Save Tonight – Eagle-Eye Cherry (1998)
This Swedish singer, songwriter, and musician, the half-brother of Neneh Cherry, made a sizable international impression with this, his debut single and album. While Cherry quickly faded from American audiences, he’s continued to regularly put out albums in Europe to moderate commercial success. In addition to releasing his own work, he’s also written songs for various films and other artists. Cherry’s latest studio album was released in Europe last year.

She Talks to Angels – The Black Crowes (1991)
This American band wasted no time when they hit it big with their debut album. Their success continued throughout the 90′s, but they went on hiatus in 2002. Front-man Chris Robinson released a solo effort shortly thereafter and toured with his band. Meanwhile guitarist (& Chris’s brother) Rich Robinson tried to launch a band but wasn’t able to without the support of a label; therefore, he released his own solo effort in 2004. The Crowes ended their hiatus in 2005 and toured extensively. Despite some line-up changes, they released their come-back record in 2008 to great commercial success. A couple records followed, but the band went on hiatus again in 2011 following a farewell tour. Chris again branched out, forming the band Chris Robinson Brotherhood this time around. They put out an album in 2012, and later that year, the Crowes announced the end of their second hiatus by scheduling UK & US tours well into 2013.

Weirdo – The Charlatans (1992)
This British band, marketed in the US as The Charlatans UK, saw their popularity wane on this side of the Atlantic following this hit and album. But in their native UK, they’ve remained at or near the top of the charts consistently. They suffered a setback in 1996 when keyboardist Rob Collins was killed in a car crash, but the band forged onward. They’ve released albums regularly over the years; their latest studio effort came out in 2010. Meanwhile, front-man Tim Burgess has released some solo work on the side; his latest solo effort came out earlier this year.
