Whatever Happened To… Franke & the Knockouts?

Sweetheart – Franke & the Knockouts (1981)
This American band released three studio albums before calling it quits in 1986. Drummer Tico Torres went on to join Bon Jovi, whom he still works with today. Front-man Franke Previte went on to write a couple songs for the film Dirty Dancing, resulting in an Oscar for penning The Time of my Life. He also contributed to the stage version of the film, which hit Broadway in 2004. Previte recently re-issued the band’s three original albums, plus a greatest hits collection, the proceeds of which support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in memory of Patrick Swayze (who succumbed to the disease in 2009).
